I really think Nissan did a great job, the current Altima is the second best selling car in America anyway, so that goes to show most people dont care about CVT. I think it’s cool how Nissan used Nasa technology for the seats!

I am a car enthusiast and out of all transmissions I much prefer a stick and a clutch, but honestly this is a family sedan, 99% of the people who buy this car are getting it to take their kids to school, go to work, etc. They DONT care if its a cvt or a 8 speed auto as long as it’s smooth and good on gas! Cvts are honestly not that bad.

[..YouTube..] Everyone always bags on CVTs, but you’re buying a family sedan, most people don’t know the freaking difference, and for us that do, if you’re buying this, I don’t really think you get to have a say, lol. How many people have actually even driven a CVT car instead of just repeating “I hate CVT,” “eww CVT,” and “CVT hahaha?”

Do you need drivers in SoCal and pay a 6 figure salary; needed for comfortable living – i.e. $2k/month Mortgage, $4-$5/Gal Gas, Groceries at Henry’s/Sprouts (because we must be organic) and the occasional Sprinkles Cup Cakes so we can justify our lipo sessions.

Without the CVT I bet the Altima would have been the #2 selling car in the US in 2011 (oh wait it was!). Truth is most people shopping this segment don’t care about the type of transmission. I think if you care about the transmission so much you need to look in a different segment. And the exterior styling is the same? Did you even look at the car? Better luck next time davewhodavedunn!
